What's Happening
Our Events
From volunteer work to community outings and fundraisers, we always have something fun happening.
- Food Truck & Bake Sale – Vince’s Cheesesteak Food Truck will be coming back to our church parking lot! Stop by and support this fundraiser on Thursday, August 21st from 11:30 AM – 6:00 PM. $1 from each sandwich sold will go to St. John’s General Fund. We will also have pies and baked goods for sale (sign up in the narthex, if you would like to provide a treat). Share with your friends and family...we hope to see you there!
- Outdoor Worship Service/Church Picnic – On Sunday, September 7th, we will have an outdoor worship service at the Breinigsville Park at 10:30 AM, followed by our annual picnic. This event will again be held together with the congregation of St. John’s UCC. Bring your lawn chairs and a salad/dessert to share, if you are able (please sign-up in the narthex). Come and enjoy worshiping outside in God’s creation, followed by good food, fellowship and fun.
- Monday Evening Bible Study – The Monday evening bible study will be meeting the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7 pm in the adult bible study room. (No meeting on 9/1/25) We will be working our way through The Twelve Disciples, LifeGuideTopical Bible Studies by Douglas Connelly. If you would like to purchase the book, it is available at Christianbook.com. All are welcome whether or not you are able to read the section for the week!
- Rally Day – is scheduled for Sunday, September 14th. Meet us at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall - Parents, please register your children for the new Sunday School year (registration forms can be found in the narthex). We will have classes for toddlers through adult. We hope to see you there! Sunday School classes will be held at 9:30 AM beginning 9/21. We are looking for volunteers who may be interested in being teachers or helpers for the upcoming year. Please consider this ministry and contact the office if you would like to help.
- Harvest Home – will be on Sunday, September 14th. If you are interested in contributing to the display, please have your canned goods and produce to the church by 9:00 AM on Saturday, September 13th. All proceeds and other donations will be given to the local food bank. See Carol Moyer with any questions.
- Community Free Dinners – Dinners will continue on the 3rd Friday, every other month (except November- 2nd Friday). The next dinner will be held on September 19th, sponsored by Ladies Aid. Dinner served from 5 PM-? While supplies last! Anyone interested in volunteering please call the church or contact Bob Neumoyer.
- Plant a Row – Calling all gardeners! St. John’s will once again be a drop off point for Plant a Row Lehigh Valley. Produce drop off days will begin Monday, June 30th and will continue every Monday until mid-September. Please place donations in the cooler near the office door on Mondays, or you can drop of in the narthex when you are at church on Sundays! Donations will be taken to St. Paul’s Food Pantry in Trexlertown. Contact Beth Furman with any questions.
- Basket Social – preview night on Friday, October 3rd (6-8pm), event on Saturday, October 4th (10am to 2pm). Tickets may be purchased/placed both days, take-out food items will be available only on the 5th. Ticket pricing (1 sheet = 25 tickets): 1 sheet/$10, 2 sheets/$20, 3 sheets/$25. Winners will be drawn at the end of the event and contacted by phone.
- Pines Dinner Theater – We have seats reserved for Friday, October 17th to see “Lucky Stiff” (reservations and $ due October 1st) and Friday, December 12th to see “Christmas at the Pines” (reservations and $ due December 1st). Dinner begins at 6 PM, the show is at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $70 each - includes dinner, show and gratuity. Please note the new location: Shops at Cedar Point, 315 S. Cedar Crest Blvd., Allentown. - Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends – shopping passes are now available for Wednesday, October 22nd, 8 AM-11 PM (IN-STORE ONLY). Your donation of $5 to St. John’s Ladies Aid will entitle you to receive 25% off most items purchased that day. This is a great way to begin holiday shopping! See any Ladies Aid member to purchase one.
